Clint Bowyer claimed his second win of the 2018 Monster Energy Cup Series season on Sunday at Michigan International Speedway.
Bowyer capitalized on a two-tire pit stop to take the lead and would go on to outlast Stewart-Haas Racing teammate and win Sunday’s Fire Keepers Casino 400 at Michigan International Speedway.
For Bowyer this is his second win of the season. Bowyer’s first win came earlier this year at Martinsville Speedway.
Bowyer and team NO.14 gambled when pitting under yellow after the second stage ended on Lap 120. Bowyer took the lead from Kasey Kahne on Lap 124.
Bowyer would go on to hold off teammate Kevin Harvick on a restart on Lap 126.
The caution came for the final time when Ricky Stenhouse Jr. would spin out after contact with Kasey Kahne on Lap 129. NASCAR would go on to red-flag the race on Lap 133 of the scheduled 200 lap race due to rain.
Stewart-Haas Racing would make it a 1-2-3 sweep with Clint Bowyer taking the top spot, Kevin Harvick in second and Kurt Busch in third.
