MENCS: Martin Truex Jr. wins Pocono 400

Martin Truex Jr. outlasted Kyle Larson in a restart with seven laps remaining to win Sunday’s Pocono 400 at Pocono Raceway.

“We’re back baby, we’re bahttps://speedwaydigest.com/index.php/submit-an-article#k2TabContentck!” Truex yelled shouted on his radio with excitment after winning the race.

The 2017 Monster Energy Cup Series champion took advantage of an occurance of cautions late in the race to score his second win of the 2018 season and second win at Pocono Raceway.

Larson who finished second, was followed by Kyle Busch, Kevin Harvick and Brad Keselowski rounding out the top five.

“We lost control of the race on pit road when we didn’t come out first,” said Harvick, who led 89 laps. “You win some and you loose some. Racing against guys like that, it’s going to come down to splitting hairs and the 78 and the 18 both were good today.”

For the most part, the three dominate cars of Harvick, Busch and Truex dominated the race on Sunday.
