Alex Bowman will lead the field to green in next Sunday’s Daytona 500.
Capturing our eyes when he subbed for the injured Dale Earnhardt Jr. in 2016, Bowman proved to us all he is threat to the competition.
Bowman posted the quickest lap in round 1 of qualifying and edged out Denny Hamlin in the second round.
Denny Hamlin will start on the outside of row. Positions 3-40 will be determined following Thursday’s two duel races.
2018 marks the second year the NO. 88 has been on the front row of the Daytona 500. Former NASCAR driver, Dale Earnhardt Jr. started alongside Chase Elliott in 2017.
