Peck Motorsports Continues Education of Being “Green”

The leading NASCAR team in being environmentally conscious and responsible, Peck Motorsports will show off their Renewable Engineered Systems-prepared solar powered transporter this Wednesday at the Holiday Shopping Center in Martinsville, Virginia. Joining the team will be Virginia Governor Bob McDonald. The team transporter will be on display from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. ET and will be open for the public to view. Food will be provided from Chick-fil-A.

Earlier this year, Peck Motorsports teamed up with Renewable Engineered Systems (R-E-S) to become the only team in NASCAR to use solar power to help them power through a NASCAR race weekend. R-E-S installed their Survivor Power Systems 1200 unit on the transporter to power the transporters electrical power and lights using solar power. The system used by Peck Motorsports is one-of-a-kind and the only solar system used by a NASCAR team.

“I have to say, it’s a pretty cool system,” said driver Todd Peck. “If you’re a NASCAR fan, you need to come out and check out our hauler. The guys at Renewable Engineered Systems installed this over the winter and it’s really been awesome. We’re saving a lot of energy on race weekends and it really puts us ahead in being green at the track.”

The team will be in Martinsville preparing for Saturday’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Kroger 200 at the Martinsville Speedway.
