Jason White Fights for 14th Place Finish in Iowa

Jason White came to Iowa with his sights set on another strong run as the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series nears the middle point of the season.  White would fight the handling of his No. 23 GunBroker.com Ford all weekend before settling for a 14th place finish in the running of the American Ethanol 200 at Iowa Speedway.

Before an enthusiastic crowd of 24,000 fans, White started the 200-lap event from the 22nd position as a result of his qualifying effort earlier in the day at the .875 mile track.   As they had done in the two practice sessions for the event, White and his GunBroker.com team battled finding the balance on their Ford F-150 during the first half of the 175-mile event.  However, as the Doug George led team has already proven this year, the team made some adjustments during pit stops and the handling improved throughout the race. The combination of the improved handling and being a “Lucky Dog” recipient helped White bring home his No. 23 GunBroker.com Ford to a hard fought 14th place finish.

“It has become a common theme but we battled as a team tonight and brought home a decent finish,” stated White. “We could not get a good grip on the handling of our truck and some of that needs to be attributed to the track – it can be a tricky one to find that right balance on your truck.  But this GunBroker.com team has shown all year that they thrive under pressure and once again we all battled and were able to salvage something decent.  We just seemed to encounter small issues, but we kept our heads down and brought our GunBroker.com Ford safely home.”

The 14th place finish kept Jason in the 11th position in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series drivers’ standings – now only two points out of the top-10.

Jason and his GunBroker.com team will return to action this weekend as the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series visits Chicagoland Speedway for the running of the American Ethanol 225 on Saturday July 21st at 8:00 p.m. ET.
