Tim George Jr. Finishes 24th at Kentucky Speedway Following Late Race Incident
Tim George Jr. and the No. 2 Applebee’s/Potomac Family Dining Group Chevrolet team settled for a 24th-place finish in the UNOH 225 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Kentucky Speedway after being involved in a late-race accident Thursday evening. George Jr. started the 150-lap affair from the 15th position and battled a loose-handling condition in the early stages of the race. The New York City native made two scheduled visits to pit road for the Gere Kennon-led pit crew to work on the handling of the No. 2 Chevrolet. As the laps wound down, George Jr. worked his way into the top 15 before sliding up the race track and making contact with the turn two outside wall on lap 102. The Applebee’s Chevrolet sustained major damage to the rear end, which led to several visits to pit road for repairs and ultimately leaving George Jr. to cross the finish line in the 24th position.

Ty Dillon Leads Laps and Earns Top-Five Finish at Kentucky Speedway
Ty Dillon and Richard Childress Racing’s No. 3 Bass Pro Shops Chevrolet team battled their way through Thursday evening’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series field to finish third in the UNOH 225 at Kentucky Speedway. Although the Sunoco Rookie of the Year contender qualified fourth, the RCR team was forced to change engines during final practice on Thursday afternoon, sending Dillon to the back of the field for the start of the 150-lap race. Dillon took the green-flag from the tail-end of the field and drove into the top 20 within the first 10 laps of the race despite battling a loose-handling condition on the No. 3 Bass Pro Shops Chevrolet. Routine chassis adjustments throughout the event provided little relief for the Welcome, N.C., driver. A strategic call for two tires during a lap 104 caution period placed Dillon in the top spot for a lap-107 restart, and he led the next three circuits before slipping to the second position. The 20-year-old driver battled for position during the final laps of the race as he maneuvered his loose-handling truck, crossing the finish line in the third position. He is now tied for third in the driver championship point standings, four points behind the leader

Joey Coulter Finishes Seventh at Kentucky to Post his Fourth Top-Ten Finish of the Season
Joey Coulter and Richard Childress Racing’s No. 22 Steak-umm Chevrolet team finished fourth in Thursday evening’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series UNOH 225 at Kentucky Speedway, marking the team’s fourth top-10 finish of the 2012 season. The Miami Springs, Fla. native started the race from the 16th position and raced his way into the top 10 within the first four laps of the event. The Steak-umm Chevrolet was running in the eighth position when a lap-63 caution period prompted crew chief Harold Holly to direct Coulter down pit road for a four-tire stop with chassis adjustments to combat a lack of grip on the slick race track. The over-the-wall crew executed a fast stop and returned Coulter to the track in the fourth position, and the 2011 Camping World Truck Series Rookie of the Year raced his way into second by lap 80. Coulter reported the No. 22 Steak-umm Chevrolet drove smoother once he was in clean air, but he lost track position following a lap-103 caution period when he lost three positions on pit road, positioning him fifth for a lap-107 restart. In the later stages of the race, Coulter battled for position in traffic, ultimately finishing seventh. With his fourth top-10 finish of the 2012 season, Coulter is now seventh in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver championship standings, 50 points behind the leader.
