Jason White Blown Away at Dover by Rare Engine Failure

It has been a roller coaster start to the 2012 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season for Jason White and Friday at Dover International Speedway the wild ride continued.  Starting in the middle of the pack, White never got into the rhythm of the race before his No. 23 GunBroker.com Ford suffered a rare blown engine on lap 13.  The devastating damage ended the race for the team and resulted in a disappointing 33rd place finish in the running of the Lucas Oil 200 at the track known as the “Monster Mile”.

White started the scheduled 200 lap event from the 20th position and never really got the chance to make his expected move to the front of the field as the blown engine brought out the first caution of the day on lap 13.

“This is so disappointing and I don’t even know what to say,” stated Jason White. “We battled finding the handling of our GunBroker.com Ford during the two practice sessions but it was the best it had been all weekend on our qualifying run.  Doug (George) and the guys made some great changes to the truck and we all thought we had another great race ahead of us.  I really didn’t have any signs that the engine was about to blow – I was in the middle of the corner and it stuttered a little bit so I burped it and went back to the gas and there was nothing there.”

The 33rd place finish dropped Jason four spots to 11th in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series drivers’ standings – nine points out of the top-ten.

“We have a tremendous engine package,” added Jason.  “By far these are the best engines I have ever run and this was just a rare and freak deal.  This has kind of been the way our season has gone so far though.  Everyone on this GunBroker.com team will put their heads down and turn our attention to Texas where we are taking our Charlotte truck and will have some great horsepower under the hood.  ”

The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series will return to action this Friday night as the series heads to the 1.5-mile tri-oval of Texas Motor Speedway for the running of the Winstar World Casino 400k on Friday June 8, 2012.
