Jesse Little; JJL Motorsports ready to tame Monster Mile

With his JJL Motorsports team feeling refreshed following nearly a five-week break from NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series (NGOTS) competition, driver Jesse Little is feeling rejuvenated and ready to head to Dover (Del.) International Speedway for Friday afternoon’s JEGS 200.

The “Monster Mile” as it’s called has historically been one of Little’s best race tracks and while it’s timid high banks and incredibly fast speeds can be haunting to some for the driver of the No. 97 JJL Motorsports Ford F-150, he knows it’s one of his best opportunities to earn his first career Truck Series victory.
“I love Dover, always have,” said Little who will make his fourth start of 2019. “It’s been one of those race tracks for me that I’ve always run good – even if I don’t have the results to show for it, but it’s one of that tracks that suits me and I think we can go there and contend for a win.”

Two years ago, Little nearly pulled off an underdog upset before circumstances took him out of contention – but as Little has shown time and time ago, situations aren’t setbacks – they are just a bump in the road that leads to bigger and better things.

“I’m excited to go to Dover and have the opportunity to showcase ourselves front and center,” added Little. “The last two years we’ve had fast trucks and I know that we’ll have more of the same on Friday.

“Dover is a race that can go by in a hurry, so you really need to have a good balance where you can take advantage of track position and even sometimes wrestle the fuel mileage card too. Our plan is to unload with what we know and adjust our truck from there. The track will change a lot from practice to the race, but I think its something we’re ready for and we’re determined to earn our first top-10 finish of the year.”

The team also hopes their performance on Friday will spark the interest of a potential new marketing partner as the team will compete in the sixth race of the year without the benefit of a primary partner.

“We have a great team who can take a company’s dollar and stretch it a mile,” added Little. “We know that strong performances will enable us the opportunity to bring new marketing partners to the table and I hope we can go to Dover and prove that.”

Without a primary partner, the team is still extremely thankful to have a slew of associate partners who will adorn the team’s truck for Little’s fourth Dover run.

Skuttle Tight, Parker FiberNet, Visit Kingsport, Grindstaff Rub, PFC Brakes and new partner Dkota Investments will be showcased in Little’s 26th career start.

Looking forward, JJL Motorsports continues to work hard on securing additional partners and sponsors for the 2019 season including the upcoming race at Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway and several races this summer.

“It takes a lot of people to get our No. 97 Ford to the track each week,” explained JJL Motorsports team principal Jason Little. “We continue to fight hard and go to the race track every week and give 100 percent. We’d like to increase our schedule this season but need the sponsorship support to make it happen.

“We’re doing a lot of things to try and bring new partners to the table, but we know that performance is everything and if we can go to Dover and run competitive, we have another opportunity to tell our story.”
