Brandon Jones Returning to KBM for Five Races in the No. 51 Tundra

Kyle Busch Motorsports (KBM) announced today that Brandon Jones will return to the organization for five races in the No. 51 Tundra during the 2019 NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series (NGOTS) season. Jones will make his first NGOTS start of 2019 at Dover (Del.) International Speedway May 3 and will also compete at Kansas Speedway in Kansas City May 10, Chicagoland (Ill.) Speedway June 28, Kentucky Speedway July 11 and Phoenix (Ariz.) Raceway November 8. Chigo Home Appliances will be the primary sponsor of Jones’ first four truck races; announcement of the primary sponsor of the November Phoenix race will be made separately.

Jones made five NGOTS starts for KBM in 2018, recording three top-five and four top-10 finishes, finishing outside the top 10 just once since joining the Toyota Racing camp. Overall since making his Truck Series debut in August of 2013, Jones has recorded three runner-up, 10 top-five and 19 top-10 finishes across 40 starts. The Georgia native – who will once again compete for the 2019 NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) championship with Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) – has registered two poles, three top-five and 34 top-10 finishes across 104 career Xfinity Series starts. Additionally, the 22-year-old driver has collected five career ARCA Racing Series victories, including last year at Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway, and one NASCAR K&N Pro Series win (Iowa Speedway, 2014).

“I’m really looking forward to being back with Kyle Busch Motorsports in 2019 and having another shot at victory lane for KBM in the NASCAR Gander Outdoor Truck Series,” Jones said. “We came close last year with four top-10 finishes in our five races, and I think we’re poised to have an even better run this year. I’m excited by the possibilities that come with working with Rudy Fugle and the No. 51 team. Rudy is proven winner on the track with over 20 wins and four championships; I’m sure I’ll learn a lot from him and I think there will be valuable cross over benefits that I can take to our efforts in the No. 19 Xfinity Series Toyota Supra at Joe Gibbs Racing. The Toyota Tundras built by KBM are the class of the field and I’m honored and proud to have Kyle’s support and the opportunity to climb behind the wheel of his great Toyota equipment while representing Chigo Home Appliances along with other great Menards vendor partners.”

“Chigo Home Appliances and Soleus Air Conditioning are so excited to work with Brandon Jones and Kyle Busch Motorsports again,” said Tyler Scott, Senior Vice President Sale and Marketing for Chigo Home Appliances. “Brandon does his best racing when he’s in Chigo sponsored equipment, so we are confident that he is sure to get his first win and take Chigo and KBM to victory lane in 2019!”

“Having Brandon back gives us another experienced driver in the lineup for the 51 team as we pursue an Owner’s Championship this year,” owner-driver Kyle Busch said. “He had solid runs in his four races for us last year and his feedback will be valuable to not only Rudy (Fugle, crew chief) and the other young drivers to help make the 51 team better, but he’ll also be a veteran teammate for Todd (Gilliland) and Harrison (Burton) to lean on the weeks he is racing for us. He’s been so close to winning several times in the Truck Series and we feel like it’s just a matter of time before he breaks through and gets to victory lane.”
