Robby Lyons joining forces with Reaume Bros. Racing for Talladega Truck debut

After starting the year behind the wheel of the No. 15 Chevrolet Silverado for Premium Motorsports, NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) rookie Robby Lyons has joined Reaume Bros. Racing aboard the No. 33 Sunwest Construction Chevrolet in a collaborative effort with Bruce Cook and Chad Finley Racing (CFR) for Saturday’s Fr8Auctions 250 at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway.

A native of Seminole, Fla., Lyons has competed in seven Truck Series races this season, finishing all but one. In his Daytona debut, he qualified 25th but progressively drafted forward and avoided the late chaos to earn a season-high 13th place finish, a second-best result in nine overall starts.

“I couldn’t be more excited to get back in a truck, especially at Talladega,” said Robby Lyons. “This race track means a lot to both me and my family. Back in 2005, we attended the spring Xfinity and Cup races at Talladega and the next day, my life would change forever.

“I was in a scary motorcross accident that left the doctors wondering whether I’d even walk again. Through sheer determination, a little hard headedness and countless prayers from friends, family and the racing community, I was able to make a full recovery and prove the doctors wrong.

“I am so happy to get to race at Talladega, especially knowing the deep personal impact this place has had on me.”

Knowing what he learned in his superspeedway debut at the “World Center of Racing” in Feb., the Floridian hopes to showcase his restrictor plate skills once again and contend for his first career top-10 finish.

“I’m confident I’ll be taking the No. 33 Sunwest Construction Chevrolet Silverado to the front thanks to the hard work and preparation by Bruce Cook and my whole team. I also want to thank Josh Reaume and everyone at Reaume Brothers Racing for giving us a chance to go racing and chase a trophy.

“The truck is fast, and I cannot wait to get down to Talladega and give it all we have.”

Lyons is expected to compete in at least one more Truck Series race this season following Talladega with an official announcement expected in the coming weeks.”

Josh Reaume, co-owner of Reaume Bros. Racing and a Truck Series competitor says his organization is thrilled to have Lyons drive their No. 33 Chevrolet this weekend and hope his family-owned team can earn some time in the spotlight.

“We’re thrilled to be working with Robby this weekend! He has worked very hard to put himself in a position to succeed at Talladega,” said Reaume. “We are looking forward to getting back on track after a three-week break and can’t wait to watch Robby push his way to the front.”

In nine career Truck Series races, Lyons has earned a best-finish of 12th at ISM Raceway (Phoenix) in Nov. 2017, while also qualifying a career-best 20th in the same event. In 2018, the 29-year-old has finished a season-high 13th at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway.
