Officials from On Point Motorsports announced today that Scott Lagasse, Jr. will pilot the teams No. 30 Toyota Tundra for Saturday’s running of the Fred’s 250 at Talladega Superspeedway. Joining the party this weekend will be Strutmasters.com, who will serve as primary sponsor for the impressive new organization in just their third NASCAR Camping World Truck Series start.
“We are thrilled to feature the combination of a great speedway racer like Scott and a supportive sponsor like Strutmasters.com,” stated Steven Lane, manager of On Point Motorsports. “I have a history with Scott and he helped us in our truck series debut at Bristol. He has had tremendous success at speedway racing and that experience is a great asset for our organization as we continue to build and grow. Add the sponsorship support of Chip Lofton and his Strutmasters.com organization, and it makes for an exciting duo as we head to one of the most exciting races of the season.”
On Point Motorsports made its NASCAR Camping World Truck Series debut in August at Bristol Motor Speedway with Lagasse, Jr., and followed that up with a strong eighth-place finish last month in their second start at Las Vegas Motor Speedway with Austin Theriault. Led by veteran NASCAR crew chief Steven “Bones” Lane, the team sets it sights on its third start at Talladega Superspeedway.
“I am looking forward to getting back behind the wheel of the No. 30 Strutmasters.com Toyota at Talladega,” stated Lagasse, Jr. “Restrictor plate racing has become one of my favorite types of racing and I am expecting great things this weekend. There has been a lot of work in preparing for this race and I want to get everyone at On Point Motorsports the finish they deserve.”
Lagasse, Jr. has become known as a speedway specialist and that is very evident by his four-consecutive top-10 finishes in NASCAR Camping World Truck Series restrictor plate races. Talladega will mark his 30th career start in the Camping World Truck Series and his 98th career start in NASCAR’s top divisions.

The running of the Fred’s 250 will be Saturday October 13th and can be seen LIVE on FoxSports1 at 1:00 pm ET and heard nationwide on MRN Radio.
