GRANT ENFINGER SCORES A STAGE WIN AND A TOP-FIVE FINISH IN TEXAS

“I don’t know what happened. I felt like we had a tire going during one of the first cautions, and I about lost it. Then I would struggle for a couple laps, and then we were able to rebound a little bit. The biggest thing was, Jeff Hensley (crew chief) was able to change our strategy a little bit – steal us some track position – and we were good enough to maintain. I think any time we were in the top-five, we were a top-five truck. We still have a little bit to be a contending truck, but we made gains. We were better than we’ve been in the past, and we’ve steadily been making gains.”

TOP-FIVE FINISH FOR MATT CRAFTON IN TEXAS

“Track position and raw speed were what we were lacking tonight. We were a top-five, top-three truck, in the right circumstance. On that last restart I tried to drive it in on the top, but I got really tight, lost the nose, and lost a spot. All-in-all, not a bad day. We’re making strides on this Menards Ford F-150. We started off behind, due to the manufacturer change, but we’re slowly making strides – getting better and better each week.”

TOUGH NIGHT IN TEXAS FOR BEN RHODES

“We can’t seem to get any luck this year – it’s just been a very rough season. It was definitely a rough Texas for us. We just can’t seem to keep the motors running – we’re not sure what side that is, we can’t figure out the issue. Sooner or later, we’ve got to figure it out because we’re losing too many points and too many wins. I think tonight, just like Atlanta and Kansas, we could’ve come home with the win. Looking ahead, Iowa’s always been a good track for us, but then again, mile-and-a-half’s have been good tracks for us, too.”

ON-TRACK INCIDENT ENDS MYATT SNIDER’S STRONG RUN EARLY IN TEXAS

“As usual, everyone from ThorSport Racing brought me a great Ford F-150. We were running great all night in the Carolina Nut Co. truck, finishing third in the first stage and eighth in the second. We had speed all night. We were up front, keeping ourselves in position and doing everything we could to keep that position on the track. It was exactly what we were trying to do – we executed perfectly. We just had an unfortunate racing incident midway through the third stage where I was racing with another Rookie of the Year contender. It’s hard to tell what happened – it was a racing incident, clearly, and unfortunately, we ended up with a wrecked truck. It’s never how you want to end the race, but the whole night we showed who we were. I think that’s the strongest thing you can do as a team. As a whole, we were great. If we keep doing what we’re doing with strong runs, we’ll end up in the playoffs. I have no doubt we’ll keep moving forward and work like we always do.”
