LeMastus Finishes 19th in Kansas

Bo LeMastus brought his No. 54 Crosley Brands Toyota Tundra home in the 19th-position in Friday night’s 37 Kind Days 250 at Kansas Speedway (Kansas City, Kan.).

 

“Kansas was a little bit of a rough run for me,” said LeMastus. “The biggest shame is the fact that I wasted what was a very, very good Toyota Tundra. We had the opportunity to leave Kansas with a good result, and I failed to get it done. Our guys at DGR-Crosley did a great job all weekend and brought me a fast truck, I just wish we had the result to show how good we really were.”

 

The Louisville, Ky., native rolled off the grid 16th at the one-and-a-half-mile track in Kansas on Friday evening. After losing a few spots on the initial start, LeMastus maintained a top-20 position for most of Stage 1, where he went on to be scored 21st when the caution came out on lap 40 of the 167-lap event. In Stage 2, LeMastus found his rhythm and was posting speeds equivalent to the trucks running inside the top-10. Even though the No. 54 Crosley Brands Toyota was running two laps down, LeMastus was able to gain track position in Stage 2 and was scored 16th when the stage ending caution came out. A pit road penalty relegated LeMastus to the back of the field on the restart, and the bad luck continued when the No. 54 Toyota went for a spin off Turn 4 on lap 105. LeMastus was able to salvage a 19th-place finish for the day.

 

Though it wasn’t the day LeMastus was looking for, he took away some positives from the weekend before heading to another one-and-a-half-mile track at Charlotte Motor Speedway (N.C.) this weekend.

 

“The positive from the weekend is that I learned a lot, and I’m ready to move on to Charlotte where we can apply all that we learned this weekend and get the guys the results they deserve,” said LeMastus.

 

The North Carolina Education Lottery 200 at Charlotte Motor Speedway will take place on Friday, May 18 at 8:30 p.m., ET. DGR-Crosley will have two truck entries in Friday night’s event; the No. 54 Crosley Brands Toyota of LeMastus and the No. 17 Globe Fire Sprinkler / BlazeMaster Toyota driven by Chris Eggleston.
