Snider Posts 16th-Place Finish at Kentucky

Myatt Snider, driver of the No. 51 Liberty Tax Service Toyota Tundra, posted a 16th-place finish in Thursday night’s rain-delayed Buckle Up in Your Truck 225 at Kentucky Speedway in Sparta. This race marked Snider’s third start for Kyle Busch Motorsports (KBM) in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) 2017 season.

Stage One Recap:
  • After qualifying was canceled because of a rainy day in Kentucky, the field was set off current 2017 NCWTS owner points, placing Snider and his No. 51 Liberty Tax Service Tundra in the sixth starting position. Snider kept position inside the top 10 for the first half of the stage. When the caution came out on Lap 20, Snider brought his Tundra down pit road for two right-side tires and a track bar adjustment. He restarted 13th, but was back inside the top 10 a few laps later. When the stage ended, Snider was scored 11th.
Stage Two Recap:
  • Snider started Stage Two from the third position after staying out when Stage One ended. When the caution came out two laps later, the rookie was in the fifth position. After restarting next to owner-driver Kyle Busch, Snider kept his position for the rest of the stage. He was scored fifth when the caution flew to end the stage.
Stage Three Recap:
  • The No. 51 Toyota racing team started Stage Three by putting two fresh left-side tires on the No. 51 Liberty Tax Service Tundra. Since they only took two tires when many other teams took four, Snider restarted the race leading the field. Soon after the green flag dropped, teammate Christopher Bell passed Snider for the lead position. Snider continued to battle a free truck for most of the stage, losing positions as the laps ticked by. On Lap 106 the 22-year-old spun on the race track, bringing out the caution. Snider then made a trip down pit road for four fresh tires and to assess the minor damage that was caused by the spin. When he restarted he was 20th on the track and one lap down. By the end of the race, Snider finished in the 16th position, back on the lead lap.

Talk about your race…
“KBM brought me a really fast Liberty Tax Service Toyota Tundra this weekend. I am happy to have ran where we did. We had good stage finishes and ran up front all night. I just got too free towards the end and kept us from staying up front. But I am really proud of my guys and I think it was a great race overall and looking forward to the next one.”
