NCWTS: Noah Gragson Captures M&M’s 200 Pole at Iowa Speedway

Noah Gragson will start on the pole for the M&M’s 200 presented by Casey’s General Stores on Friday at Iowa Speedway. Gragson, a driver from Las Vegas, Nevada, captured his second career Camping World Truck Series pole with a 23.136, 136.151 mph. in the final round of qualifying.

Gragson finished fifth in round one and round two sitting 10th on the leaderboard.

Christopher Bell will roll from the second starting spot when the M&M’s 200 goes green. Bell posted a 135.805, 23.195 seconds in the final round of knockout qualifying. The driver from Oklahoma was -0.059 seconds away from the top spot.

Bell enters the weekend sitting second in points and looks to capture his third win of the season. He holds an average finish of 6.4 and an average start of 5.0.

Rounding out the top three starters will be last weekend’s pole sitter Chase Briscoe. Briscoe posted a 23.216, 135.682 mph. in the final round of knockout qualifying. The rising star sat sixth in round one and second in round two.

Ben Rhodes paced the first two rounds of knockout qualifying at Iowa. However, when the final five-minute round ended, Rhodes sat sixth on the leaderboard. The young man holds three top five and five top 10 finishes through eight races in 2017.

Series points leader Johnny Sauter will start fourth on Friday at Iowa Speedway. Sauter goes into the night leading the series standings by 38 points over Christopher Bell. Matt Crafton, Chase Briscoe and Ben Rhodes round out the top five.

With 33 entries for Iowa Speedway, that meant one driver did not qualify for the M&M’s 200. That driver would be Jennifer Jo Cobb in the No. 0 Chevrolet.

The race will take place at 8:30 p.m. ET. and will be televised live on FOX Sports 1. Radio coverage will be provided by the Motor Racing Network and SiriusXM Channel 90.
