Burton Makes Moves at The Monster Mile

In only his second NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race of the 2017 season, Harrison Burton finished 13th in Friday’s Bar Harbor 200 at Dover (Del.) International Speedway. The Monster Mile proved to be a test, but Burton made moves to keep himself in a favorable position throughout the 200-lap race.
 
First Stage Recap:
  • When the green flag dropped, Burton started his No. 51 DEX Imaging Toyota Tundra from the 10th position
  • Burton made a trip down pit road for four fresh tires when the second caution flag flew, but a penalty on pit road resulted in him restarting the race from the back of the pack in the 20th position
  • Burton was scored 17th when the stage ended
Second Stage Recap:
  • Burton started the second stage 10th but quickly raced his way to seventh
  • The 16-year-old continued to learn the track and make changes to his Toyota Tundra and ended the stage in the seventh position
 
Third Stage Recap:
  • After staying out on the track when the Second Stage ended, the No. 51 Tundra started the last stage of the 200-lap race from the third position
  • Burton and the No. 51 race team made a green-flag pit stop on Lap 156, but after an untimely caution the rookie finished the race 13th and two laps down
