Niece Motorsports readies for 2017 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Season

Newly formed Niece Motorsports will compete in a partial schedule this season in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) with multiple drivers behind the wheel of the No. 45 Chevrolet Silverado.

Last season, Niece Motorsports made one start at Texas Motor Speedway in the fall, earning a respectable 23rd-place finish in the team’s debut start.

Niece Motorsports, which is owned by Al Niece, will look to run between 12-15 select races during the 2017 season, with plans of running full time moving into 2018 as the team continues to look for potential sponsorship.

Niece owns Niece Equipment, which has for over 30 years provided clients with reliable products at competitive prices.  Niece Equipment’s reputation is built on service, integrity and dependability.  The company provides water and fuel/lube trucks that are engineered with quality and durability in mind for the construction and mining industry.

Veteran driver TJ Bell will kick off the season for Niece Motorsports, piloting the No. 45 at Daytona International Speedway.

“I’m really looking forward to getting to Daytona and getting this season started,” said Bell.  “I’ve visited the shop a lot in the off season, and this team has been working hard to put together the best truck possible for Daytona.  The guys on this team have a ton of experience, and I really think that we can put together a strong run in Daytona.”

Following Daytona, the team plans to attempt races at Atlanta, Martinsville, Kansas, Charlotte and Texas.

“I’m starting a NASAR Truck team because I’ve had a lifelong interest in racing, having raced cars and boats from an early age,” said Niece.  “I feel that having a Truck team blends perfectly with our [Niece Equipment’s] target customer base.  We will utilize the race team for customer entertainment and employee retention.  Our hope is that we can go out this season and perform well, and help gain further sponsorship.”

The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series will kick off the 2017 season at Daytona on Friday, February 24 at 7:30 p.m. ET on FS1.
