Spencer Gallagher drove the No. 23 Allegiant Travel Chevrolet to a 32nd-place finish in Friday’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) Lucas Oil 150 at Phoenix International Raceway. Gallagher started the 150-lap event from the 16th position. In the early stages of the race, the Las Vegas native reported that he was experiencing a tight-handling chassis. Gallagher was racing in the 16th position when his left rear tire went flat causing him to spin and make contact with the wall on lap 13, bringing out the second caution. Crew chief Jeff Hensley and the No. 23 crew tried to return to the field but due to heavy damage they were not able to return to compete. Gallagher finished in the 32nd position, 139 laps down.
SPENCER GALLAGHER QUOTE:
“That was a real bummer. I was fighting with a tight chassis and we never got the chance to work on the balance since my left rear went down and ended our night early. I’m proud of this No. 23 team and the effort they put in this weekend. I am disappointed that I couldn’t pull off a strong finish but there is always Miami.”
