Jack C. Smith, a driver in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, has been indefinitely suspended from NASCAR for violating the sanctioning body’s substance abuse policy.
He was found to have violated Sections 12-1 (actions detrimental to stock car racing) and 19 (violation of the NASCAR substance abuse policy) of the 2011 NASCAR rule book.

“I would like to thank those who have shown me their overwhelming support during this trying time. I regret that I was not in compliance with NASCAR’s Substance Abuse Policy regarding prescription medicine, and I am working with NASCAR towards reinstatement and compliance with their policy. In the interim, I want to let my family, friends and teammates know their support means the world to me.”
