Tyler Reddick took home the checkered flag at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in the DC Solar 350K. Reddick had some work to do when the 146-lap event got underway as he started 16th on the grid. Reddick will leave the track with Brad Keselowski Racing’s first win on a 1.5-mile oval track.
“Its an incredible accomplishment. And not just for our team but for our whole organization.” Said Hemric after the race on FOX Sports 1. “This has been something that I know I and everyone here with this team wanted to do on a mile and a half race track.”
The young driver will walk away with his third career Camping World Truck Series victory. Reddick last won a race last season at Dover International Speedway with Brad Keselowski Racing. The California native will leave Vegas with six top five and 10 top 10 finishes through 18 races in 2016.
Daniel Hemric will leave the west with a runner-up finish in his No. 19 Blue Gate Bank Ford. Hemric battled with teammate Tyler Reddick all night long for the lead. The driver, looking to capture a championship with Brad Keselowski Racing, will leave Las Vegas Motor Speedway with his ninth top five and 14th top 10 finish in 2016.
Both finishes by Reddick and Hemric is the first time ever that Brad Keselowski Racing finished one-two in a race.
Cole Custer rounded out the top three when the race ended on Saturday. Custer stayed upfront all throughout the race to battle the top two finishers all evening long. He started the night in third and led three of the 146 laps.
William Byron entered the night looking to capture his seventh Camping World Truck Series victory in 2016. Byron took his No. 9 Liberty University Toyota to a fifth place finish. Though Byron is already locked into the next round of the Chase with last weekend’s win at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
Two-time truck series champion Matt Crafton took his No. 88 Toyota Tundra to an eighth-place finish. Crafton started the night in second and entered the day as one of the favorites.
John Wes Townley, who won last year’s race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, will leave the track with a 13th place finish at the 1.5-mile oval. Townley started the night in seventh behind the wheel of the No. 05 Jive Communications / Zaxby’s Chevrolet. He now holds only two top 10 finishes this year.
The Camping World Truck Series will take two-week hiatus and will return at Talladega Superspeedway on October 22nd. You can catch the Fred’s 250 powered by Coca-Cola on your regular FOX station at 1:00 p.m. ET. The Motor Racing Network and SiriusXM channel 90 will have radio coverage.
