Tyler Reddick New Hampshire 2016 Recap

Tyler Reddick enjoyed a rock solid performance in the Granite State Saturday afternoon at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Reddick (@TylerReddick) scored a fourth-place finish in the UNOH 175, his fifth top five of the season and first in four races at New Hampshire.  He moved up to 10th-place in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) championship standings, six points behind ninth place.

The driver of the No. 29 Cooper Standard Ford F-150 started fourth and ran inside the top 10 during the opening segment of the 175-lap race. Four cautions slowed the pace during the first 53 laps of the race.  Reddick was 10th at the time of the lap 53 yellow and told his team that his Ford F-150 was free on entry and tight in the middle of the corners. He stopped on lap 54 for right-side tires and adjustments and restarted seventh on lap 58.

Despite a tight-handling truck, Reddick held his own during the next run, a 45-lap green flag stretch that was interrupted by the expiration of the Caution Clock on lap 104. He pitted on lap 105 for right-side tires, adjustments and fuel – a move by crew chief Doug Randolph that was designed to gain track position.  Reddick vaulted up to second place when the race restarted on lap 109.

As the run progressed, Reddick settled into fourth place and maintained the position through two restarts (laps 119 and 136).  Over the final 40 laps, Reddick led Timothy Peters and Cole Custer as the trio raced battled for the fourth position. Reddick consistently maintained a two-truck-length advantage over his rivals as the laps ticked away. Peters and Custer would briefly close the distance as Reddick worked through lapped traffic, but the Cooper Standard Ford F-150 motored away once he had clear race track.
