NCWTS – Custer Wins Pole & Sets New Track Record

With two rounds of qualifying in the books, the grid for the 4th Annual Chevrolet Silverado 250 at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park has been set. 32 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series drivers began round one. For round two and the run for the pole, the field was narrowed down to twelve.

Cole Custer swept the rounds in the No. 00 Haas Automation Chevrolet to grab the pole for the only road course on the NCWTS schedule. After leading round one with a lap time and speed of 79.375 seconds, 111.526 MPH, he came back and set a new track record of 79.175 seconds, just two tenths off his time in the first round. The speed of the winning lap was 111.808 MPH.

Austin Cindric will join Custer on the front row in the 64-lap race. The driver of the No. 2 PIRTEK Ford finished round one with a time of 79.805 seconds and a speed of 110.925 MPH. He earned the second front-row starting spot with a run of 79.585 seconds, 111.232 MPH.

Rounding out the top three is Daniel Hemric in the No. 19 DrawTite Ford. His time of 79.416 seconds, 111.469 MPH was good enough for second in the first round. Hemric’s slower time of 79.777 seconds, 110.964 MPH landed him in the third-place spot on the board in round two, which is where he will start tomorrow’s event.

Brent Moffitt, who won a week ago at Michigan International Speedway, finished third in round one with 79.728 seconds, 111.033 MPH. The driver of the No. 11 Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling Toyota will start sixth after recording a time of 80.282 seconds along with a speed of 110.266 MPH in the final round.

Race coverage begins tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 PM ET on FS1, MRN and Sirius XM Channel 90.
