Austin Wayne Self Sets Sights on Gateway

Austin Wayne Self seeks his first top-10 of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season in this weekend’s Drivin’ for Linemen 200 at Gateway Motorsports Park on Saturday, June 25.

“I’m looking for a strong finish,” said Self. “We’re coming off two decent back-to-back races and starting to build up some momentum. Our AM Racing team continues to work hard. Lately our Tundra seems to get stronger every week – and this week will be no different. I like our chances of bringing home our first top-10 of the season.”

Self, a rookie in the NCWTS, will drive his now familiar No.22 AM Technical Solutions Toyota under the lights in Saturday’s feature.

Set in the shadows of St. Louis’s famous arch, Gateway Motorsports Park, located across the Mississippi River in Madison, Illinois, is the sight of the series ninth event of the 2016 NCWTS season.

This will be Self’s first trip to the 1.25 mile-paved track and diverse motorsports complex. Averaging a 19.6 finish, Self currently occupies the 18th position in the overall NCWTS driver championship point standings.

“At a third of the way into the NASCAR Camping World Truck season, we couldn’t be more proud of how Austin and his team are performing. He’s currently ranked 10th in Rookie Points and 18th overall. The team is keeping company with a lot of very talented and experienced drivers, and is learning how to compete at a higher level with each race. We are particularly proud of how the No. 22 Team has battled through bang-ups a few times this season, and has managed to finish each race, which is so important for the point race. We are all looking forward to another exciting race at Gateway Motorsports Park and will be pulling for Austin and team to bring home their First Top 10 finish!” says Dan Codi, CEO of AM Technical Solutions.
