Rhyming and racing collided as rapper MattyB and NASCAR driver Max Gresham shot their upcoming music video “BurnOut” at Gresham Motorsports Park in Jefferson, GA.
BurnOut" will make its world premiere on YouTube on Thursday, November 17 in conjunction with Gresham wheeling the No. 66 MattyBRaps.com/"BurnOut" entry fielded by Turn One Racing in the Ford 200 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series event at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
That race will be telecast live on SPEED beginning at 8 p.m. Eastern Time on Friday, November 18.
“Shooting the video was very cool,” said Gresham. “I had never done anything like that before and it was an enlightening experience. It was really great working with MattyB. We had a lot of fun. Hopefully, the video will turn out as good as the shoot went. I’m really looking forward to seeing it.”
“BurnOut’ pairs Gresham - 18 and already a major NASCAR touring series champion after winning the 2011 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East title - with Matthew Morris, aka MattyB – an eight-year-old rapper/singer.
Already being compared to teen megastar Justin Bieber, MattyB and his more than 40 music videos have accumulated over 76 million views on YouTube. The Atlanta area native also boasts hundreds of thousands of followers on Twitter and Facebook.
The original composition MattyB “BurnOut” song will also feature Big Vinny and Butter of the band Trailer Choir on chorus vocals. Originally signed by Toby Keith to his Show Dog Nashville record label, Trailer Choir debuted in 2008 with "Off the Hillbilly Hook", a song that was included on the soundtrack for Keith’s Beer For My Horses movie.
Trailer Choir has since scored several hits on the Billboard Hot Country Songs list and has gained further notoriety of late when Big Vinny became a contestant this season on NBC's "The Biggest Loser" reality show.
Meanwhile, premiere mix engineer Kevin Churko has been tabbed to engineer the final MattyB authored audio and lyric tracks for “BurnOut.” The Canadian songwriter and record producer has been nominated for five Juno Awards and has won three times. He won his first Juno Recording Engineer Of The Year award in 2008 for Ozzy Osborne's "I Don't Wanna Stop"/"The Almighty Dollar.” He also won again with Ozborne for ‘Scream’ in 2011.
Both songs, which Churko co-wrote with Ozborne, were also Grammy Award nominees for Best Hard Rock Performance.
“This project is the next level for MattyB,” said Blake Morris, MattyB’s
father. “We are super excited to be working with Trailer Choir on this single and having Kevin (Churko) engineer the final song is going to be amazing. We had a great video shoot where Max and MattyB brought the song to life. We can’t wait to debut it.”
“BurnOut” will make its worldwide premiere on YouTube at 5 P.M. Eastern Time on Thursday, November 17.
MattyB and his family will be in Florida one day later on Friday, November 18, to cheer on Gresham and the MattyBRaps/"BurnOut" truck in Ford 200 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series event at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
