Spencer Gallagher Continues Top-10 Streak at Dover International Speedway

Spencer Gallagher, driver of the No. 23 Allegiant Travel Chevrolet Silverado, collected his fourth-consecutive top-10 finish at Dover International Speedway in yesterday’s JACOB Companies 200 with a sixth-place finish.

Due to inclement weather that cancelled qualifying, the field was set by practice speeds with Gallagher starting the 200-lap event from the 21st-position. Gallagher fought a tight-handling chassis throughout the 200-mile race. During the first caution of the day, crew chief Jeff Hensley called Gallagher to pit road four tires, fuel, and track bar and wedge adjustments to help loosen the tight chassis, restarting on lap 48 in the 17th position. Gallagher returned to pit road under caution on lap 133 for four tires, fuel and air pressure and wedge adjustments, with Gallagher lining up to restart the No. 23 Allegiant Travel Chevrolet in the 12th-position. The final caution of the night occurred on lap 169 and Hensley called for Gallagher not to pit. Gallagher would line up 10th for the restart with 27 laps to go. The Las Vegas, Nev., native charged through the field ending the 200-lap event in the sixth-position, collecting his fourth-consecutive top 10 and continuing his consistent start to the 2016 season.

Spencer Gallagher Quote:
“To come away from Dover with a top-ten finish is big. My No. 23 Allegiant Travel Chevrolet started off loose but then got tight as the race went on. Jeff (Hensley, crew chief) made some really positive adjustments throughout the day. I can’t say enough about this team and I appreciate all of their hard work so far this season.”
