Bobby Pierce set to make Dover debut for MB Motorsports

Bobby Pierce is set to make his debut at Dover international Speedway in MB Motorsports’ #63 Mittler Brothers Machine & Tool / Champion Brands Chevy Silverado for the JACOB Companies 200.

“Not only will this be my first time at Dover, but it will be my first time racing on concrete,” says Pierce, who is coming off a strong run at Kansas Speedway, where he made his intermediate track debut.  “Each week I’m in a different situation.  Last week it was learning the ins and outs of a banked mile and a half asphalt track.  This week it’s the Monster Mile of Dover, where you’re racing on concrete, which means figuring out tire management on a totally different racing surface.  It’s going to be a challenge, but I’m really looking forward to it.”

“Bobby performed so well at Kansas,” says team owner Mike Mittler.  “We had a set back with having to go to a back up motor, but he didn’t let it phase him.  Each time out in practice and for the first half of the race for that matter, Bobby studied the track and what the other trucks were doing.  He just kept improving his lap times and towards the end of the race he was the third fastest truck on the track.  That’s a testament to his ability.  Bobby Pierce is the real deal.”

Joining Mittler Brothers Machine & Tool and Champion Brands on the #63 MB Motorsports Chevy Silverado are Kipor Power Equipment, MARADYNE® High Performance Fans, Reikken, Excel Bottling / Ski Soda, Mechanix Wear and WIX Filters.

“Bobby is amazingly focused,” adds Crew Chief Trip Bruce. “He is constantly analyzing track conditions, searching for the line that will cut his lap time, looking for an advantage.  I’m anxious to get to the track with him because he is such an astute student behind the wheel.  Dover is going to be exciting.”

The JACOB Companies 200 will be broadcast live on FoxSports1, MRN Radio and Sirius Channel 90 Friday, May 13th at 5:30 pm ET.  Two practice sessions will be broadcast on FoxSports1 on Thursday, May 12th at 2:00 ET and 4:00 pm ET. Qualifying will be broadcast at 2:00 pm am ET Friday.
