Ben Rhodes Captures Alpha Energy Solutions 250 Pole

Ben Rhodes captured his first career Camping World Truck Series pole on Saturday at Martinsville Speedway. Rhodes posted a 19.659 lap time around the 0.526-mile oval in the final round of qualifying. Rhodes finished round one in second and ended the second round as the fastest driver.

Kyle Busch will start second in his first Camping World Truck Series start of the season. Busch, driving the No. 18 Toyota Tundra, enters the 250-lap event looking to capture his first career win in the series at the track. The Las Vegas native ended round one in third and second in the second round of qualifying. Busch was 0.046 seconds behind Rhodes.

Johnny Sauter will start in third when the Alpha Energy Solutions 250 goes green at 2:30 p.m. ET. on FOX Sports 1. Sauter finished round one in 14th and eighth in the second round. The veteran Camping World Truck Series driver enters Martinsville Speedway looking to capture his second win of the year.

Kyle Larson ended the first round as the fastest driver in his No. 24 McDonald’s Chevrolet. Larson barely advanced into the final round after ending round two as the 11th fastest driver. Larson showed much improvement in the final round as he will start fifth.

Tommy Joe Martins will start 24th after smacking the wall in round one. Martins ended the session as the eighth fastest driver in his No. 44 Diamond Gusset Jeans Chevrolet. The team hopes to repair the damage as they do not have a backup.

Six drivers did not make the race as 38 appeared on the entry list. Those going home will be Austin Wayne Self, Jordan Anderson, Travis Kvapil, Norm Benning, Chris Fontaine and Natalie Decker.
