Parker Kligerman Returning to Ricky Benton Racing at Atlanta and Possibly More

Parker Kligerman is back in a NASCAR race for the first time since race 24 in Darlington last season of the XFINITY Series schedule as he steps behind the wheel for Ricky Benton Racing at Daytona in the Camping World Truck Series.

In what was scheduled to be just a one race deal with Ricky Benton Racing has turned into the first two races with the possibility of more if sponsorship comes along after Atlanta next weekend.

“We’re probably going to do Atlanta as well, that’s kind of the plan,” Kligerman told Speedway Digest. “I would say two races with maybe the aspiration of doing the first six and seeing kind of where we go from there.”

In 2015, the only race that Kligerman competed in was Darlington with Obaika Racing in the XFINITY Series. He began the role of a TV personality for NBC Sports over the course of last year.

Kligerman has 50 career starts in the Truck Series. He has recorded one victory coming at Talladega in 2012 and has 13 top five and 25 top-10 finishes. Much of his success came when he was a part of the Red Horse Racing stable in 2011 where he picked up the lone victory of his career and finished in the top 10 in all but seven races.

In 2013, he ran the full XFINITY Series schedule for Kyle Busch Motorsports where he recorded three top-five finishes and 13 top 10s, leading 45 laps. His best result came at the road course of Elkhart Lake where he finished third.

Ricky Benton Racing has been in existence for the past six years, never running a full schedule. In 2011, the team ran 15 races with Clay Rogers, accumulating just one top 10.

The team’s best season came last year when David Gilliland piloted the No. 92 truck, earning two top-10 finishes in just seven races, with a best finish of sixth at Daytona.
