Hometown Gaughan Racing Big O Tires Tundra in Las Vegas

Brendan Gaughan has been to victory lane at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. He’s also suffered some forgettable races in front of his hometown fans. Gaughan hopes Saturday’s race is un-forgettable for him and the No. 62 Big O Tires/South Point Tundra crew of Germain Racing.

“It’s Vegas. It’s home, so of course I’m excited. We’re having the South Point bowling tournament for the crew guys again this year. It’s really about giving the crew guys a chance to have a good time,” said Gaughan of getting home, racing there, and spending some time with fellow NASCAR Camping World Truck Series crew members in a bowling tournament hosted by the South Point Hotel & Casino.

Gaughan’s one victory in Vegas came from the pole position. He and his crew have prepared a truck chassis he raced most recently at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, for Saturday’s contest at LVMS.

“Our strong run at New Hampshire is our precursor for heading to Las Vegas. We’re taking the New Hampshire truck to Vegas. It has been to the wind tunnel recently and it has a different downforce balance than our other chassis. I think I’m gonna like the truck there. We will be racing for a service center there called Big O Tires, and we’ll have the South Point Hotel & Casino represented on the bed top of the Tundra. We’re looking to rekindle some old magic at home,” smiled Gaughan, who will wheel chassis GR-017 at Las Vegas.

Saturday’s race, The Smith’s 350 from Las Vegas Motor Speedway, will be broadcast live on SPEED, MRN Radio and Sirius-XM NASCAR Radio, channel 90, on Saturday afternoon.  SPEED kicks off its pre-race coverage at 3:00 p.m. EDT, and MRN Radio will begin its live broadcast at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday, October 15.
