Timothy Peters Earns Top-Five Finish at Homestead-Miami Speedway

Timothy Peters earned his eighth top-five finish of the season with a fifth-place result at Homestead-Miami Speedway in the final event of the 2015 season. In the single practice session on Friday morning, Peters was eighth fastest at the Homestead, Florida facility. After advancing to the second and final round of knockout, single-truck qualifying, Peters earned the 12th starting spot for the 134-lap event. After the green flag dropped for the final time in 2015, Peters climbed to the ninth position by lap 20. The veteran driver visited pit road on lap 47 under green-flag conditions for four Goodyear tires and Sunoco fuel, as well as adjustments to correct a free handling condition. When the yellow flag was shown on lap 62, Peters again drove down pit road and received four fresh tires, fuel and further adjustments to his Red Horse Racing Toyota Tundra. By the next caution period on lap 75, Peters had moved into seventh. After a final four-tire pit stop while under caution on lap 86, Peters restarted in 13th, but moved into ninth position within a single lap. With 30 laps to go, Peters maneuvered into fifth place behind teammate Ben Kennedy, where he finished the event.

Timothy Peters Quote:
“We’ve just had a lot of momentum. It was so cool to get on the roll at Chicago (Chicagoland Speedway) and then in the last four races win two of them. It was just an unbelievable year. Thanks to everybody at Red Horse Racing for what they do – and Toyota, Triad (Racing Technologies) horsepower. This is the kind of streak you dream about. I wish we could go to Daytona (Superspeedway) next week and start all over. It was a strong effort by everybody involved, including the guys back at the shop.”
