Little’s finale on NASCAR Camping World Truck Series comes at Homestead

Jesse Little, a member of the 2015 NASCAR Next class, makes his final NASCAR Camping World Truck Series start of the 2015 season this Friday night with the running of the Ford Ecoboost 200 at Homestead Miami Speedway.

Little will be back behind the wheel of his No. 97 Toyota Tundra in an alliance with ThorSport Racing and will continue to have support from Protect The Harvest, an organization started by Lucas Oil founder, Forrest Lucas.

Coming off a solid run in his start at Texas Motor Speedway two weeks ago, Little will use the momentum to tame the ultra-competitive Homestead Miami Speedway.

“Homestead and Texas are both 1.5-mile ovals but they’re not even close when it comes to layout and speeds,” Little said. “Texas keeps the momentum up in the truck through the corners that just carries some unbelievable speeds while Homestead offers the ability to run in many different groves as a true oval.  It will be be exciting to get out there and see what our Protect the Harvest Toyota can do.”

With solid efforts in his previous series starts, Little is confident his team will be among the front-runners this weekend.

“The effort of this small family racing team to have equipment capable of running in the front of the field with the best in the truck series has been great. We’ll go into Homestead with the same approach and be sure to take care of business.”

Little is excited to have the chance to run in the series final race of the season, he added.

“The season finale always brings out a great crowd of NASCAR fans and it’s part of championship weekend. To be able to run this week in that environment will be exciting for myself and the team, We can’t wait to get to Florida and be part of the festivities.”

To be successful this weekend will require a focused approach on several facets of the race, he explained.

Dialing in the No. 97 Tundra for the longer runs is something that Little and his team will focus on during Friday’s lone practice session.

“We’ve got a lot of practice this week (2.5 hours) to get this Toyota Tundra set for a good qualifying run but we want to work on our handling package for long green flag runs. In Texas we battled to find a balance in the truck in those situations and believe we’re going to take those notes and have a good handle on what Homestead will need for 134 laps of racing this Friday night.”

With one race left in the season, Little has been planning for 2016.

“We’ve got our NASCAR Camping World Truck Series team heading in the right direction and a good run in Homestead will keep the attention on what we’re capable of doing with solid support from our supporters,” he said. “We’re working on plans for 2016 and would like to run the entire season and each race helps to build towards that goal. Coming out of Homestead with a solid finish will help garner the sponsorship support we need to be ready for the 2016 season that’s for sure.
