Top ARCA Series Rookie Kyle Weatherman Set For His NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Debut At Homestead

After a highly-successful year in the ARCA Racing Series, 18-year old Wentzville, Missouri  native Kyle Weatherman is set to make his NASCAR Camping World Truck Series debut in the Ford EcoBoost 200 at Homestead Miami Speedway. He will be racing for Lira Motorsports, a team that is also making their debut in the series.

“I’m really excited for my NASCAR Camping World Truck Series debut at Homestead,” Weatherman stated. “I just want to thank my sponsors and everyone at Lira Motorsports for their help and support!”

Weatherman, a Roush Fenway Racing development driver, won the Rookie-of-the-Year title and the Calypso Short Track Challenge in the ARCA Racing Series this year. He also claimed three Menards Pole Awards and led over 300 laps in competition.  In three years of ARCA racing, he has made at total of 28 starts, collecting 15 top-five and 23 top-ten finishes. He earned his first series victory this year on the road course at New Jersey Motorports Park.

Operating from their Mooresville, NC race shop, Lira Motorsorts is a two-time race-winning team in 2015 ARCA Racing Series competition. Fielding two to four cars in each race, the team collected a total of 22 top ten finishes. Their drivers also scored six Hard Charger Awards and Three Rookie of the Race Awards.

Kyle will be a part of a two-truck debut effort by the team at Homestead, with the second truck being driven by Kyle’s rival for the ARCA Racing Series Rookie of the Year title, David Levine. Levine held the ARCA Scott Rookie Challenge points lead for the majority of the 2015 season. Weatherman took over the Rookie points lead by two points in race 19 of 20 at Kentucky, then held off Levine in the season finale at Kansas to claim the title.

Weatherman’s sponsors for Homestead are LifeXist, Massage Luxe, Bambrands.com, Jersey Mike’s Subs and Supplement Superstores, as well as Lira Motorsports gear sponsors Momo, TraqGear and Roux Helmets.

The green flag for the Ford EcoBoost 200 is scheduled for Friday, November 20th at 8:00pm. The race will be broadcast live on Fox Sports 1.
