Brennan Poole Brings Home a Top-15 Finish in NCWTS Debut

Brennan Poole, driver of the No.21 MTO Café/ DC Solar Chevrolet Silverado, earned an 11th place finish in Saturday’s Rhino Linings 350 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Poole started the 146-lap event for his NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) debut in the 14th position.

At the start of the event, the Texas native battled tight conditions, but as track conditions began to change the Chevrolet started to lose rear grip. Crew Chief Harold Holly called the 24-year-old to pit road under the second caution of the night; however, Poole missed the commitment line and had to come back to pit road on lap 38. Poole then took four tires, fuel and a track bar adjustment to help gain rear grip, and had to start from the back of the field due to a penalty incurred during the stop. As green flag pit stops began to cycle through, Poole battled his way up the sixth position before having to pit for fuel on lap 96, rejoining the field in the 19th position. Poole broke into the top 15 before the last lap of the race, when leaders began running out of fuel. The No.21 MTO Café/ DC Solar Chevrolet crossed the finish line in the 11th position, one-lap down in his NCWTS debut with GMS Racing.

BRENNAN POOLE QUOTE:

“I had an awesome time out there tonight. GMS Racing is a great organization to work with. They supplied me with a great truck and a hard working crew. I wish we could have grabbed a top 10 but we brought home a truck in one piece and had a strong finish. Late in the race, I began to feel free on entry and lost grip in the rear. Harold (Holly, crew chief) made an adjustment that helped a lot, but not long after it just went in the opposite direction and put us back to square one. I can’t thank everyone enough for this tremendous opportunity and experience. This would not have happened without the support from my sponsors DC Solar and MTO Café.”
