Timothy Peters Nabs Fourth-Place Finish at New Hampshire

After starting in sixth place, Timothy Peters picked up his first top-five finish at New Hampshire Motor Speedway with a fourth-place result in the UNOH 175. In his sixth trip to the Magic Mile, Peters was third fastest in first practice and eighth in the final practice on Friday. During knockout qualifying on Saturday morning, Peters transferred to the third and final round and secured the sixth starting spot for the 175-lap event. Under sunny, blue skies, the veteran driver put the No. 17 Red Horse Racing Tundra in fourth on the first lap. Peters reported to crew chief Marcus Richmond that his machine was free in Turn 2, as well as Turns 3 and 4. When the caution flew on lap 35, Peters headed to pit road for four Goodyear tires and fuel, in addition to adjustments for handling. After restarting in fifth, Peters remained in the top five fighting a tight-handling condition until a scheduled green-flag pit stop mired him in traffic. When the caution flag flew within the last 10 laps, Peters restarted in sixth place and jumped up to fourth on the restart, where he remained for the final laps.

“We’ve just been working really hard and we really wanted to do well here. I think sixth is the best that we’ve done (prior to today’s fourth-place finish). We just fought free (handling) and then we fought tight one run. Then that last run we took two tires and we were just a little too free. All in all, great effort by everyone on this Red Horse Racing Tundra. Great run last week, great run this week and going into one of my favorite places next week with a lot of momentum.”
