NCWTS: Alex Tagliani Scores Canadian Motorsports Park Pole

Alex Tagliani captured the pole for the third annual Chevrolet Silverado 250 at the Canadian Tire Motorsports Park on Saturday. Tagliani will become the 10th pole winner of the 2015 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season after a fast time of 1:20.084 seconds, 110.539 mph. in the final round. The pole will mark Tagliani’s second in the series as he captured the pole for this event one year ago.

Erik Jones will start in the runner-up position on Sunday afternoon behind the wheel of the No. 4 Toyota Tundra for Kyle Busch Motorsports. Jones posted a fast time of 1:20.118 seconds, 110.492 mph. on his third trip around the road course in the final round. The Michigan native enters the weekend looking to capture his second win of 2015.

Starting in third will be two-time defending champion Matt Crafton. Crafton, a native from California, comes into the weekend looking to capture his fifth win of the year in the series. The 39-year old comes into the race with eight top five and 12 top 10 finishes through 14 races.

Series points leader Tyler Reddick will start the 250-mile event in the fourth position. Reddick enters the weekend leading the driver standings by six points over Crafton. Erik Jones, Johnny Sauter and Daniel Hemric round out the top five.

There was one incident in the two rounds of knockout qualifying that involved Robert Mitten making heavy contact into the tire barrier. Mitten and his team did not have a backup truck available and will go home after withdrawing.
