NCWTS: Chevrolet Silverado 250 Race Preview

The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series will also go road course racing. The Series will head north of the boarder for the third annual Chevrolet Silverado 250 at the Canadian Tire Motorsports Park. The race will mark the only road course race of the year for the series. Ryan Blaney comes into the weekend as the defending race winner. Blaney, who is racing in Saturday’s XFINITY Series race, is not entered to participate on Sunday.

A total of 33 drivers make up the entry list. Some of these include Cole Custer, Mason Mingus, Brian Wong, Alex Tagliani, Josh Reaume, Robert Mitten, Gray Gaulding, Daniel Brown and TJ Bell. One team will go home after qualifying on Saturday.

Alex Tagliani will join the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series for only the second time of his racing career. Tagliani will pilot the No. 29 Brad Keselowski Racing Ford with sponsorship from Cooper Standard. The native from Canada captured the pole and left with a 16th-place finish at the Canadian Motorsports Park last season.

Gray Gaulding will join the Kyle Busch Motorsports organization to pilot the No. 54 Toyota Tundra on Sunday. Gaulding will make his second start of the 2015 season in the series. The 17-year old driver has earned one top 10 finish through 10 career starts.

Gaulding is pretty excited for the opportunity.

“I’m very excited to be a part of KBM,” Gaulding said. “It’s a dream as a driver because I remember growing up watching Kyle and how much I wanted to drive for him when he started his own team. I know his mentality is to go out every weekend and win races. It’s a championship organization with great people and I know I’ll be able to go to the race track and have an opportunity to win at each race.”

The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver standings continue to tighten as the series heads north. Tyler Reddick leads by six points over Matt Crafton in the No. 88 Menards Toyota. Erik Jones comes into the weekend sitting in third by seven points behind the leader. The Camping World Truck Series has only eight races remaining in the 2015 season.

The Chevrolet Silverado 250 will take place on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. ET. Fans can watch live coverage on FOX Sports 1 and FOX Sports Go. Fans can also tune into the Motor Racing Network for live radio coverage of the event.
