Ryan Blaney Bristol Motor Speedway Recap

Ryan Blaney (@Blaney) rallied from a lap down to win the UNOH 200 Wednesday night at Bristol Motor Speedway.

The victory was Blaney’s fourth in 57 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races and the fourth for Brad Keselowski Racing in 2015.

Ryan was leading the race on the restart following the first caution on lap 38 when he was penalized for jumping the start.  Blaney served his pass through penalty under the green flag.  The costly sequence of events left him 21st, one lap down to the leaders.

Blaney didn’t give up.  He hustled his way back onto the lead lap thanks to the second caution of the race on lap 81.  Two laps later he pitted for four tires and restarted 19th on lap 89.

He was up to 14th when the third caution gave him the opportunity to pit on lap 116 for four tires and adjustments. Blaney restarted 18th on lap 119 and moved inside the top 10 by lap 143.

He was sixth when the race was slowed by the fourth caution for an accident on lap 161.  A few minutes later the race was halted by a 45 minute rain delay.  The race restarted on lap 175 and from there the charge was on.  Ryan restarted sixth and one lap later he was fifth.  Blaney moved up to fourth by lap 183, third by lap 187 and was second on lap 194 – just six laps from the end of the race.

On lap 197 the fifth and final caution of the race set up a green-white-checkered dash to the finish.  Blaney started inside of race leader Matt Crafton.  He used a terrific restart to take the lead in dramatic fashion entering Turn 1 on lap 200 and never looked back, crossing the finish line .512 seconds ahead of his nearest rival.
