Tyler Reddick Michigan International Speedway Recap

Tyler Reddick scored a very respectable top 10 finish in his first NASCAR Camping World Truck Series start at Michigan International Speedway.
 
Reddick (@TylerReddick) finished in ninth place in the Careers For Veterans 200 presented by the Cooper Standard Foundation and Brad Keselowski’s Checkered Flag Foundation Saturday afternoon to keep a firm grip on the series point lead.  Tyler has an eight point advantage in the series standings after racking up his 11th top 10 finish in 13 races.
 
Tyler started 11th but slipped sideways on the first lap, dropping back to 16th.  He quickly recovered and started moving through traffic.  He climbed up to 10th position by lap 14 and was running there at the time of the second caution of the race on lap 26.  
 
Tyler made his first pit stop of the afternoon under caution on lap 27 for four tires and adjustments.  He lined up ninth when the race went green on lap 30. 
 
Reddick used a terrific restart to climb up to third on lap 31.  He was running fifth when he made his final scheduled pit stop under green on lap 67 for four tires and adjustments.  Tyler was sixth at the end of the cycle of stops and was seventh when the third caution slowed the race on lap 72.  Reddick lined up seventh when the race went green on lap 76. 
 
The Draw-Tite Ford F-150 was just a bit too loose in traffic during the closing stages of the race for Reddick to make a final charge to the front.  Three more cautions would slow the race over the final 23 laps keeping the field packed together.  
 

Reddick did a commendable job managing the two and sometimes three wide racing following each restart and was rewarded with a top 10 at the checkered flag.
