Iowa Speedway On-deck for Korbin Forrister.

One of the challenges small teams in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series faces is catching up after a tough weekend at the track. Korbin Forrister and the SS Green Light Racing crew have stepped-up to the plate this week to get his No. 08 Tilted Kilt Pub and Eatery Chevrolet Silverado prepared for the American Ethanol 200 at the 7/8-mile Iowa Speedway.”

“Gateway didn’t work out in our favor. We had a rocker arm break early in practice so we didn’t get on the track until the last 30-minutes and the truck was real tight. So we made a bunch of adjustments and we went a little too far and I backed it into the wall qualifying so that put us into a back-up truck,” said Forrister. “We lost the brakes early in the race so I had to back off early and be sure we took care of the truck. It’s a good truck, but without brakes things just didn’t fall in our favor. We had to save the truck and survive that race.”

“I made a few laps at Iowa a couple years ago in an ARCA car so I’m a little familiar with the track,” Forrister continued. “The guys went straight to Iowa from Gateway so they could spend extra time getting the truck ready for Iowa rather than come back to Charlotte. After that we get a couple weeks off so we can get some trucks ready for Kentucky and Eldora.”

“We’re raced 6 out of the last 7 weeks and that takes it’s toll on a small team like ours. We want to get through the weekend, get a solid finish and then we get a couple weeks to get some trucks ready. I want to thank Bobby Dotter and Ray Black’s team, BJ McLeod and all my crew guys for working so hard at Gateway to get us in that race and all the extra effort this week to get ready for Iowa.”

Both Korbin and teammate Ray Black Jr. will also participate in Friday afternoon’s NCWTS autograph session from 2:30 to 3:15 pm.

The American Ethanol 200 is the 344th consecutive NCWTS start for the SS Green Light Racing team, a streak that dates back to 2001. There are 32 trucks on the entry list, which will prelude the USAC Silver Crown Race on Saturday.
