NCWTS: Cole Custer Captures Drivin’ for Lineman 200 Victory

Cole Custer captured his second career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series win on Saturday at the Gateway Motorsports Park. Custer made his 12th start of his career in the series behind the wheel of the No. 00 Haas Automation Chevrolet. The finish, by capitalizing on mistakes made by Erik Jones and Matt Crafton, gave Custer his first top 10 finish this season.

Spencer Gallagher will walk away with his best career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series finish after taking the runner-up spot. Gallagher started the night in the 14th-position. The best career finish will also give the Las Vegas native his second top 10 of the 2015 season.

Johnny Sauter rounded out the top-three finishers at the Gateway Motorsports Park. Sauter started the night in fourth and nearly passed Gallagher for second on the last lap. However, with Gallagher hungry for the runner-up spot, he weren’t able to get by.

Matt Crafton had a great night going until later in the race when he suffered heavy damage on lap 151. Crafton was not able to finish the race due to an accident. Despite the DNF, Crafton continues to lead the points by 12 over Tyler Reddick.

Erik Jones came into the night looking to finish on the lead lap after numerous bad luck over the last three-four races. Jones started on the pole after qualifying got washed out due to rain. After leading three different times, mostly battling Crafton, Jones bad luck hit the team on lap 145. The No. 4 Toyota team had to settle for the 23rd position.

The next race for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series will be at the Iowa Speedway on June 19. Coverage will begin at 8:30 p.m. ET. on FOX Sports 1 and FOX Sports Go. The Motor Racing Network will carry the live radio broadcast.
