NCWTS: Gateway Qualifying Set by Practice Speeds, Erik Jones on Pole

Erik Jones will start on the pole as qualifying got canceled on Saturday afternoon due to rain. NASCAR will line the field based on final practice speeds, which Jones lead earlier in the day by posting a time of 32.903 seconds, 136.766 mph.

Starting right beside Jones will be Cole Custer in his No. 00 Chevrolet. Custer has momentum coming into the weekend as he scored the pole last season and ended the night in the sixth position. This weekend will mark the third start of the season for the California native.

Rolling in the third spot will be NASCAR Camping World Truck Series point leader Matt Crafton. Crafton posted a fast time of 32.948 seconds, 136.579 mph. in the one and only practice session. The start on Saturday will mark his fifth from inside the top 10.

John Hunter Nemechek, who led 53 laps at Gateway last season, will roll from the 12th starting spot. Nemechek posted a lap of 33.280 seconds, 135.216 mph. The North Carolina native will make his 15th career start.

With 32 trucks entered, no drivers failed to make the race.
