DRIVEN – Matt Crafton: Born To Race Premieres June 12 on FOX Sports South

FOX Sports South will debut DRIVEN – Matt Crafton: Born to Race, presented by Toyota on Friday, June 12 at 11 p.m. ET, the latest in the network’s EMMY Award-winning original programming series.

DRIVEN – Matt Crafton: Born to Race chronicles the life and humble upbringing of NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) driver Matt Crafton, and what led him to become the successful driver he is today.

Crafton is the defending two-time NCWTS champion, and the first driver ever to win back-to-back championships in the Series. He is the current points leader for the 2015 season on the strength of two wins in six races.

“I’m just a racer, and I absolutely love to race,” said Crafton. “I’ve always known this is what I wanted to do.”

The show will explore the professional racing career of Danny Crafton – Matt’s father – in the NASCAR Featherlite Southwest Series, and how their small, family-owned automotive shop in Tulare, California helped fund the racing dreams of both father and son.

“Growing up, I didn’t have everything given to me,” said Crafton. “It was always scratching by to try to get to the next race.”

At the age of 7, Matt began racing go-karts, and he has not stopped racing to this day. Today, Crafton holds the record for the most consecutive starts by a driver in the NCWTS – a streak that is still active. Matt Crafton: Born to Race will take viewers on a journey through Crafton’s 16-year career as a driver in the NCWTS and the consistent improvements he made on his way to the top of the standings.
