For years NASCAR fans have said they moved away from their roots, moved on to bigger and better things, forgot the people who made them. Well today NASCAR is coming back home to their roots and bringing a Camping World Truck race to Rockingham Speedway along with them.
Sunday April 15th of next year the historic racetrack known by many who sat through many cold days and nights to watch the stars of the Sprint Cup Series run at Rockingham until 2004 when a shareholder dispute down in Texas known as the Ferko lawsuit moved the final race away in one fell swoop when Speedway Motorsports bought the track and moved the race to Texas in order to settle the lawsuit of a second race which had been promised to Texas Motor Speedway.
Next years race at Rockingham will be known as the Good Sam’s Road Assistance 200 Presented by Cheerwine. NASCAR fans this is your time to shine, show NASCAR why they belong at The Rock, show them even more reasons to stay.
