NCWTS: Toyota Tundra 250 at Kansas Speedway Race Preview

The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series heads to the Kansas Speedway for the 15th annual Toyota Tundra 250. The 1.5-mile oval marks the fourth stop on the series calendar since they took the green flag at the Daytona International Speedway back in February. Kyle Busch, who is not entered to run the race on Friday night, comes into the event as the defending race winner.

The entry list for the Toyota Tundra 250 features 32 drivers and teams. With 32 showing up to the track, all trucks will make the race. Some of the faces include Michael Affarano, Ryan Newman, Spencer Gallagher, Matt Tifft, Austin Theriault, Scott Lagasse Jr., Brandon Jones, Daniel Suarez, Tyler Tanner and Jordan Anderson.

Several drivers that sit inside the top 10 in points come into the Kansas Speedway making their first start at the track. These drivers include Tyler Reddick, Erik Jones, Ray Black Jr. and Cameron Hayley. Don’t let these young drivers fool you as they have shown huge success on these intermediate tracks. Jones is a huge example of this as he captured a victory last season at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Ryan Newman will compete in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series for the first time since the Eldora Speedway in 2013. Newman will pilot the No. 8 NEMCO Motorsports Chevrolet around the Kansas Speedway on Friday night. The Indiana native has five career starts in the series with one victory in 2008.

The SpongeBob SquarePants weekend theme will also skip over in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. Ben Kennedy’s No. 11 team is doing an awesome promotion if they’re able to raise $10,000 for pediatric cancer before the green flag drops to begin the Toyota Tundra 250. If the team is able to accomplish the goal – crew chief Scott Zippadelli will wear a SpongeBob SquarePants “onesie” that will match the paint scheme on the No. 11 Toyota Tundra. Fans can watch the Toyota Tundra 250 live on FOX Sports 1 at 8:30 p.m. ET. The Motor Racing Network will carry the live radio broadcast. You can also watch the race on the FOX Sports Go application through a participating television provider.
