NASCAR Next star readies for Camping World Truck Series debut

Team Little Racing and Jesse Little have reached an agreement with Sandusky, Ohio-based ThorSport Racing that will allow the 18-year old to compete in a part-time schedule during the 2015 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season.

ThorSport Racing will provide engineering support as Little prepares for his NCWTS debut on May 29 at Dover International Speedway driving a Toyota Tundra. Little, a member of the NASCAR Next program is a third-generation driver who also competes in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series for Larry McReynolds Racing.

“To have this alliance and support from ThorSport Racing for my Truck Series Events is a huge step forward for me, Team Little Racing and our partners,” Little said. Our goals are to put together solid finishes and represent ThorSport Racing, Duke Thorson and our sponsors including NASCAR Technical Institute and Performance Friction Brakes in a first class manner.”

Thorson welcomes being a part of Little’s progression in NASCAR, he noted.

“We look forward to supporting Jesse (Little) as he makes his transition into the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series,” said Duke Thorson, owner of ThorSport Racing. “We feel that this alliance with (Little) will assist him in reaching his ultimate goal in NASCAR.”

Leading Little’s team on the NCWTS will be veteran crew chief, Harold Holly. The relationship between Holly and the Little family extends back to the crew chief’s leadership of Jesse’s father, Chad, where he led the Spokane, Wash. native’s NASCAR Sprint Cup and Xfinity Series teams. Holly has amassed 20 victories as a crew chief in NASCAR’s top-3 divisions including a 2012 NCWTS win with Joey Coulter as his driver.

“Jesse is an impressive young man is so many aspects of life. He’s a strong student, treats everyone with respect and is eager to learn new things,” Holly said. “From a racing perspective Jesse has won at every level he’s competed on, takes care of his equipment, provides his team with good feedback and knows how to pace himself during a race. This partnership with ThorSport Racing will give us a chance to compete at one of the sport’s top levels where Jesse can show his skills. We have solid goals, will work to be a good teammate and always be respectful on the track. As a team we’re excited to get to Dover and see what our team can do in our Camping World Truck Series debut.”

Little is eager to work with Holly in their Camping World Truck Series campaign.

“Getting to work with Harold is an awesome experience. He helped me when I first started in Late Models and of course, he won several Xfinity races with my Dad. We’re able to mesh a lot of what we’ve talked about over the years as he’s taught me to be a better driver,” Little said. “Harold has a tremendous track record on the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. I have a great deal of respect for what he can do leading a team. Having known him for most of my life our communication will be solid as we work to dial in the truck. That should make our efforts pay off with strong finishes for ThorSport Racing in the selected events on our schedule and on with our K&N Pro Series team.”
