Gaulding, a second year member of the NASCAR Next class, announced that he will compete for Red Horse Racing in the Kroger 250 at Martinsville Speedway and is working on adding additional races in the No. 7 Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Toyota Tundra.
"This is a awesome opportunity for myself and Krispy Kreme,"said Gaulding. "We have had a relationship with Toyota and Toyota Racing Development (TRD) for several years and when the opportunity came to partner with Red Horse Racing it was a dream come true. Walking into that facility just three days ago and seeing the teamwork, professionalism, and how everyone was working together I knew instantly this is where I needed to be to compete in the Camping World Truck Series. Red Horse Racing, Toyota, and Triad Racing Technologies really stepped up to make this happen so quickly for me."
Butch Hylton will serve as crew chief of the No. 7 Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Toyota Tundra, Hylton has multiple wins in the NCWTS including sweeping both races in 2010 at Martinsville Speedway.
"This all came about very quickly, but a lot of hard work by everyone here at Red Horse Racing and the support from Toyota and Triad Engines made it happen," added team owner Tom DeLoach. "I've known Gray (Gaulding) for a long time and expect him to be strong at Martinsville (Speedway).
Gaulding is currently third in the NKNPSE championship point standings and will race the remaining 13-race schedule in the No. 20 Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Toyota Camry for Precision Performance Motorsports out of Yorktown, Virginia.
"I've gotten to know Rick (Gdovic), Brandon (Gdovic), Charles (Denike), and their team over the past few years and even had the opportunity to race a latemodel with them in 2014. They have a great team and have proved it on track,"stated Gaulding. "Not to mention it's a neat story getting to race for a Virginia based team knowing they're only an hour from my hometown."
Gaulding and the No. 20 Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Toyota Camry team will work under the direction of Charles Denike, who also serves as team manager for PPM.
"The Precision Performance Motorsports team (PPM) is very excited to be working with Gray Gaulding this season. Gray is an exceptional driver and our goal is to provide him with the equipment and support so that he can contend for a championship in the K&N Series, said Richard Gdovic, team owner. We met Gray when he first entered the K&N series a few years ago and have been impressed with not only his performance on the race track, but also with his professionalism at such a young age. We are proud to be part of his ongoing development as a professional race car driver and exceptional sponsor representative."
