Korbin Forrister at Home in Atlanta

Carrying the momentum of a career best 12th place finish under the lights Friday night at the Daytona International Speedway, Georgia native Korbin Forrester looks towards another strong run this Saturday at the Atlanta Motor Speedway when the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series competes in the Hyundai Construction Equipment 200.

The Cedartown, GA native is excited to get behind the wheel of the No. 08 Tilted Kilt Pub & Eatery Chevrolet for his first NASCAR event in his home state, “Even though I’ve never run there before, I’m coming with the right group of people to be competitive with and a team who has experience at Atlanta that will help me get our Tilted Kilt Chevy up to speed quickly.”

It will also be Forrister’s first race on a mile-and a half speedway in the NCWTS, “This will be a new learning curve for me. I ran Gateway, Iowa and Phoenix last year, but Atlanta is very different. They tell me it gets slick real fast. B.J. (team manager B.J. McLeod) says that halfway through the race he was only three-quarter throttle and still sliding sideways through the corners. It will be tough, but I feel we’ll do pretty good there.”

Even though the Atlanta Motor Speedway is less than one hundred miles from his home, the NCWTS rookie has never been to the mile and a half speedway, “I think we can be strong there even though I’ve never been on the track. I’m excited and can’t wait to get back behind the wheel of the Tilted Kilt No. 08 this weekend.”

Tilted Kilt Pub & Eatery will once again back Forrister’s Chevy Silverado for the Hyundai Construction Equipment 200. “We’re going to have the same three Tilted Kilt calendar girls with us in Atlanta. They loved it at Daytona and they can’t wait to get to Atlanta this weekend. We’re going to do our best to get them a solid finish.”

Saturday will be a unique “double header” with both the XFINITY Series and Camping World Truck Series race on the same day on the same track, “This is the first time NASCAR has scheduled a weekend like this that I can remember,” said SS Green Light Racing Co-owner Bobby Dotter. “It’s going to be a new experience for both our young drivers and I’m hoping the weather cooperates with us. We’ll see how this works out.” The XFINITY Series Hisense 250 takes the green at 2:00 Saturday while the NCWTS Hyundai Construction Equipment 200 will follow at 5:30 pm.

The Hyundai Construction Equipment 200 is the 337th consecutive NCWTS start for the SS Green Light Racing team, a streak that dates back to 2001. There are 33 drivers on the entry list.
