Full Season Slated for the No. 33 GMS Racing Chevrolet

GMS Racing’s No. 33 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Chevrolet team will run all 23 events in 2015. The No. 33 team will compete for the Owner’s Championship title utilizing the driving talents of Brandon Jones, Austin Dillon and Ty Dillon.   

 

Shane Huffman will serve as crew chief for the No. 33 GMS Racing team marking his first full season with the organization. The veteran crew chief tallied three victories, one pole award, seven top-five and 13 top-10 finishes in the ARCA Racing Series and K&N Pro Series East last season.

 

Jones is slated to compete in 17 of the 23 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series events on the 2015 schedule. The Atlanta, Ga., native made his debut with GMS Racing in October 2014, driving the No. 33 Chevrolet at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway. In his second start with GMS Racing, Jones ledthe three-truck contingent with a 12th-place finish at Phoenix International Raceway. He will kick off his season with the team at Martinsville Speedway in March.

 

With ample seat time behind the wheel of a Chevrolet Silverado, Ty Dillon is scheduled to race three events for the Statesville, N.C. team. Dillon, a regular in the NASCAR XFINITY Series was crowned the 2012 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Rookie of the Year and claimed three wins, four pole awards, 18 top-five and 33 top-10 finishes in the series.

 

Rounding out the additional three races in 2015 is two-time NASCAR Champion, Austin Dillon. A veteran of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, Dillon has garnered six victories, 12 pole awards, 21 top-five and 41 top-10 finishes enroute to the series championship title in 2011.

 

“I’m really excited for the 2015 season with GMS Racing,” Huffman, said. “We have a great driver lineup planned with Brandon, Ty and Austin. They have a lot of talent to bring to the table, and I know we’ll be able to run up front every weekend with these guys behind the wheel of our No. 33 Chevrolet.”

 

Along with the No. 33 entry, GMS Racing will also field an additional full time truck driven by Spencer Gallagher. “We worked hard over the off season to put together two very strong teams,” Nic Moncher, GMS Racing team manager, said. “Shane and the No. 33 team with Spencer (Gallagher) and Jeff (Stankiewicz) on the No. 23 truck have a ton of potential to win races this year.”

 

The 2015 season takes the green flag at Daytona International Speedway on Friday, February 20th with the NextEra Energy Resources 250.
