Making his third NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) start of the 2014 season for Turner Scott Motorsports, Kyle Larson put on a dominating performance for the majority of the 134-lap race, leading a race-high 96 laps en route to a solid second-place finish in the season finale. With his first-ever go-kart sponsor ParkerStore back on board, Larson and his No. 42 team unloaded with speed right off the truck during the weekend’s two practice sessions. Larson advanced to the final round of knockout qualifying and captured his second pole of the 2014 NCWTS season with a blazing time of 32.252 seconds. After dominating the first 100 laps of the race, Larson fell back to third during the final pit stop, ultimately crossing the finish line in the second position when the checkered flag waved.
Following the drop of the green flag, Larson wasted no time defending the ParkerStore Silverado in the first position as he cleared his competition in Turn 2 and set sail for the race’s first long run. Larson would continue to dominate the first part of the race and hold onto the top spot until the fifth caution of the night came out on lap 100. During the caution, two-time championship winning crew chief Mike Hillman, Jr. called Larson down pit road for the final pit stop of the race. After solid pit stops all night, the ParkerStore team had trouble removing the right-front tire, ultimately sending Larson back out to restart the race on lap 106 in the third position. With clean air at a premium at the 1.5-mile south Florida track, Larson continued to battle, sometimes three and four wide, during the remaining portion of the race, ultimately bringing the ParkerStore Silverado home with a runner-up finish.

We had the dominant truck all night, and it stinks finishing second, but I couldn’t be more proud of the guys that worked on the No. 42 truck. Hopefully we can take this momentum and build on it for tomorrow’s [NASCAR] Nationwide Series race, and visit Victory Lane one last time in 2014.”
