Kyle Larson will start the 19th annual Ford EcoBoost 200 from the pole after a fast time of 32.252 seconds, 167.431 mph. The pole will mark the second of the season for the 21-year-old competitor. The last time he started on the pole in a NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race, which was at the Pocono Raceway back in August, Larson led 21 laps of the event and later finished 18th. He definitely hopes that this start will go much better for him in the season finale.
Ryan Blaney, who enters the weekend racing for the championship against Matt Crafton, will roll from the third starting spot. Blaney posted a fast time of 32.269 seconds, 167.343 mph. in the final seconds of the third round. It’ll mark the 17th time of the 2014 season that he’ll start a NASCAR Camping World Truck Series event from the top-10. Blaney was just 0.017 seconds behind the pole sitter.
Ross Chastain will be making his third start of the season behind the wheel of the No. 35 Toyota for Win-Tron Racing. Chastain posted a very solid time at the end of the final round that will have him starting the race in third. Tonight will be his first start since the Martinsville Speedway in April and his first with Win-Tron Racing.
NASCAR Camping World Truck Series points leader, Matt Crafton, comes into the race with a 25 point lead over Ryan Blaney. If Crafton wants to become the first back-to-back champion, he will have to finish 21st or better without leading any laps. He’ll start the evening from the sixth-spot.
Because only 36 showed up to qualify, nobody will be going home. There was one incident in the first round that involved the No. 07 of Todd Peck that left oil on the track.
